Pay It Foward Tampa Bay

Pay It Forward Tampa Bay

Precision Kia is proud to announce a new Facebook campaign to help our local Tampa Bay communities. Beginning on August 1, 2011 and continuing each month, Precision Kia will give our fans the power to select one of five local charities to receive a $1,000 donation.

How it works

Each month, Precision Kia will select five charities that support the Tampa Bay communities. During the month, Facebook fans will vote for their favorite charity (from the five selected) by telling us who their favorite charity is on our Facebook wall. Every fan can vote once per day and for as many days as they want. At the end of each month, the charity with the most votes will be presented with a check for $1,000 by the owners of Precision Kia, Mike and Leann Rowe.

Please join us on  Precision Kias Facebook page  today, become a fan and vote for your favorite charity.

Be sure to share this campaign with others who care about giving back to our community.

The Charity's

Angels for Foster Kids - Angels for Foster Kids , - Angels for Foster Kids is an established 501(c)(3) social service organization that attempts to moderate the negative impacts that are often faced by children who are living in foster care. Our organization's programs, implemented by a well-trained professional staff, provide many opportunities for the reduction of indigence and facilitation of achievement through needed intervention. Supporting the development of self-confidence, life skills, and educational ability, Angels for Foster Kids provides many at-risk children with a thorough foundation for future success. The 1,000.00 will go towards clothing and toys for many children in Hillsborough County.  We have over 2500 children we are raising money for right now who are in desperate need of clothing and toys for the younger ones.  Your donation will provide these items to approximately 50 children as for every 1.00 we have donated we have a large toy/clothing supplier that matches the amount allowing us to do that much more from each donor.

Homeless Coalition of Tampa Bay - Homeless Coalition of Tampa Bay  , - The Homeless Coalition of Hillsborough County mission is to educate, coordinate and lead the community   by bringing together various entities, agencies, service organizations, and individuals to establish and maintain a concentrated effort to break the cycle of homelessness in Hillsborough County, Florida. The Homeless Coalition of Hillsborough County has two new initiatives.  The first is outreach to veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless; the second is outreach to homeless unaccompanied youth (ages 16 ? 22).  Both of these initiatives seek to have veterans and youth participate in peer groups to help us better understand their needs and what services would best help them.

Hope Children's' Home  - Hope Children's' Home , - Founded in 1968, Hope Children's Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of 2 and 18. Most of these children have been discarded, abused, unwanted, or orphaned. Some of them have faced life situations that left them a little off track. Our purpose at Hope Children's home is to share Christ with the children and mold them into Biblically educated members of our future society. Our home is located in Tampa, Florida on 45 beautifully wooded acres of land. We have dormitories for the boys and girls that can house a total of 80 children. Hope Christian School is also located on our property and is accredited by the state of Florida, providing a private, quality, Christian education to each of our children, Nursery through 12th grade. If Hope Children's Home were to win, we would use the money toward buying furnishings for our new cottage that will hopefully be completed by the end of the year.  This new cottage will allow our youngest children to live together and be provided more one-on-one time.

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay - Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay,  - Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, Inc. repairs homes of those in need. RTTB intends to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, in the Tampa Bay Area, assuring that low-income homeowners live in warmth, safety and independence. If we were to win the money, we would allocate it to assist some of the homeowners in the current areas we are working now which is Progress Village and Sulphur Springs. As you may know, more homeowners than ever need help just to keep their homes safe, healthy and more energy efficient. We intend to help as many of those as our funding will allow.

Wheels of Success - Wheels of Success , - Wheels of Success works with partners in the automotive industry to repair & restore donated vehicles to good running condition, then presents them to local families who need safe, reliable transportation to get to work.

Within our overall program, we have specialized programs that address specific needs.
  • Wheels to the Future for former foster care and other unaccompanied youth
  • Vehicles for Veterans for members of our armed services
  • Cars for Caregivers for patient caregivers
  • Road to Independence for survivors of domestic violence
From the youth aging out of foster care and hoping to continue his education, to the veteran needing transportation to get back into the workforce after serving his country, to the healthcare provider who is struggling to get to work to care for her patients, and to the domestic violence victim trying to leave her abuser and start a new life, we are the last piece of the puzzle for many of the agencies who address these issues.

Since 2003, Wheels of Success has provided 457 vehicles and an additional 453 car-related services to Tampa Bay area families. The money would be used to purchase 50 batteries at $20 each to use in our donated cars from Jan-June 2012

Hillsborough Education Foundation, - http://educationfoundation.com/
The role of the Hillsborough Education Foundation is to garner private support and public engagement for Hillsborough County Public Schools.  As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Foundation provides Hillsborough County Public Schools with funding that is typically more flexible than restricted tax dollars.  The funding and extra resources for the students, teachers, and schools helps to cover the gap that exists between what school budgets can cover, and what is needed to ensure the academic success of our students.

Since its establishment in 1988, the Foundation has invested more than $75 million for the enhancement of public education in Hillsborough County.  Annually the Foundation obtains over $5 million in support from the community, with 92 cents of every dollar going directly to programs.

Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, - http://kidscharitytb.org/
Kids Charity of Tampa Bay's mission of is to improve the quality of life for foster children by providing advocacy, opportunities, support, and resources.  We accomplish this mission through several community initiatives.

A Kid's Place is the most visible community initiative of Kids Charity of Tampa Bay. A state-of-the-art Residential Care Facility, A Kid's Place provides a safe, stable and loving environment for abused, abandoned and neglected children from birth to seventeen years of age.  Separated from their families through no fault of their own, siblings are typically placed in the first available foster care environment without consideration of their personal need to be connected with their siblings.  The unique design of A Kid's Place provides a homelike atmosphere and accommodations to meet the needs of the single child and of the largest families.

Judeo Christian Health Clinic, http://judeochc.org
The Judeo Christian Health Clinic was founded in l972 in order to provide free health care to the medically indigent of the Tampa Bay Area.   It has grown to be one of the largest and most comprehensive free clinics in the Southeast U.S.  The name of the Clinic was selected to connote the original meaning of the Judeo Christian concept of man helping his fellow man.

The Judeo Christian Health Clinic accepts no government or United Way funding but solely relies upon its own fund raising efforts through the private sector to meet expenses.  Clinic services include primary & specialty care, vision, and dental.  The Clinic also has a fully stocked, state licensed pharmacy where patients of the Clinic may fill their prescriptions free of charge.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, - http://www.bbbsfl.org/
Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

A lot goes into matching a child (Little) with the right volunteer (Big). We interview every volunteer, provide training, plus on-going support and supervision. Your donation allows us to serve more children in need. Don't know if you want to mention that it costs $1,000 to match a Big with a Little for one year.

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.  ? http://www.crisiscenter.com
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay sees over 350 survivors of sexual assault come through our doors every year, and we know that's only one-third of number of actual cases that occur. When a man or woman is sexually assaulted, his or her clothes are usually taken for evidence. In return, we provide each survivor with a fresh, new change of clothes. If awarded the $1,000, our Sexual Assault Services could buy clothing for 40-50 more survivors of sexual assault. Experiencing rape is one of the most traumatic experiences anyone can endure. To be able to provide these survivors with new clothing and a new feeling of safety takes them one step closer to finding healing and reclaiming their lives.

Syndey's School for Autism -  Our mission at Sydney's School is to meet both the educational and therapeutic needs of autistic children-while they attend classes with typical peers. We opened two new classes this school year and if we where to win the money-it would be put to buying more equipment/ curriculum for those classrooms allowing the staff to enhance the learning experience for all our children.

A Brighter Community - A Brighter Community, Inc. is a non-profit, United Way supported, nationally accredited preschool and family support program. We serve economically and environmentally children, ages 3-5 years who are at-risk for school failure. We are one of five contracted Head Start sites in Hillsborough County and we are a certified voluntary pre-kindergarten provider. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker is on staff to provide family support services and play therapy to students with identified special needs.

Animal Coalition of Tampa -  ACT's vision is a community where all cats and dogs have a chance for a happy and healthy life instead of a life of cruelty and neglect. We offer low cost ways to accomplish this vision. If we won $1,000, we would spay and neuter more homeless cats that live in the streets and alleys in our communities.  Alley cats, feral cats, community cats (they are referred to in several ways) are actually the responsibility of human beings or leave them behind to fend for themselves, or allow them to roam un-neutered.

Florida Kinship Center - The Florida Kinship Center's mission is to support kinship caregivers to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for the children they are raising.  The Center empowers kinship families by providing information and referral, emotional support, education, advocacy, training, policy planning, and research.  FKC would use the $1,000 award to provide emergency funds for kinship families in crisis (such as a one-time payment of an electric bill or rent) to grandparents and other relatives raising children.  This funding would help stabilize kinship families and prevent children from being at risk in the Tampa-Bay community.

Brighter Tomorrows - The purpose of Brighter Tomorrows, Inc. is to increase awareness of domestic violence in our community, sponsor educational programs designed to reduce it, support organizations that directly address the needs of its victims and to strive to eliminate the conditions that allow such violence to continue. All proceeds from our Brighter Tomorrows, Inc. fundraising efforts fund grants to organizations providing services to victims of domestic violence in Hillsborough County.

Alpha House - Our mission is to empower pregnant and parenting women in crisis to realize their ability to break the cycles of poverty and abuse and create promising lives. The vision of Alpha House is to provide opportunities for pregnant and parenting women in crisis to create promising lives for themselves and their babies.

Faith Café - The mission of Faith Café is to serve our neighbors in need with dignity, love and respect, as Jesus would. Faith Café serves a lunchtime meal Monday through Saturday in a donated church hall at 3702 W. Kennedy Blvd. Unlike other ministries, Faith Café is made up of different denominations that unite in the name of Jesus to serve our neighbors in need.

Meals on Wheels - Meals On Wheels of Tampa nourishes and enriches the independent lives of the homebound and seniors in Tampa. If we were to receive $1000 from this program, we would use it to feed more people who can not pay the full price for a meal. $1000 could feed 210 people for one day.

Joshua House - Our mission is to support abused, abandoned, and neglected children of Joshua House through resource development, investment and governance.Hundreds of children have passed through Joshua House since it opened. Each story of abuse and neglect is as unique as the child. With five homes on 11 acres, Joshua House promotes growth, stability, and support specific to each child's need. Keeping sibling groups together is just one of the many ways Joshua House makes a difference.

R-U-Safe - R U Safe is a nonprofit organization committed to assisting domestic violence victims in our community.  We  offer free legal representation for victims who are seeking a restraining order against their abuser.  Are You Safe also offers mental health counseling to victims who desire to regain their life without their abuser.  The $1000 will be used for transportation costs for victims to appear for hearings, court costs, witness fees, and print materials for victims to assist them in living their lives without their abuser
